Job type: Permanent

Full Stack TypeScript Software Engineer

Role: Full Stack TypeScript Software Engineer

Salary: Up to £70K

Location: Fully remote/ remote first.

Would you like to use your tech skills to help reduce the damaging impact of transportation on the climate crisis?   Then this role and company might just well be what you’ve been looking for!

I am looking for a Full Stack Software Engineer, with a specialism in TypeScript (Node) and web development, with Python and Data being strong desirables for the role.

You will be going into a small, but growing, company and team: there are a few developers there currently and around 15-20 people in the company. They are a talented and caring bunch of people from diverse backgrounds, who love what they do and believe strongly in the company’s mission.

Data IS the company’s product. They use it to augment behaviours within the transportation sector to reduce fuel costs and usage: helping the companies they work with to save money and, most importantly, to have a significant, positive impact on the environment.

Due to the nature of the business, having a strong passion for data would be a major advantage! SQL skills around data modelling, CRUD ops, etc would be really useful.

As they are a start-up, they have virtually no tech debt, their projects are greenfield: making this a veritable utopia for developers! They always endeavour to improve a system before building new features on it: something that I’ve not seen lots of other companies do, and that I think speaks volumes about their general approach to their tech – sustainability, efficiency, and scalability are paramount.

To give you an idea of what you can expect to be doing in this role: you will, amongst other things, be tasked with the Design, build, and maintenance of multiple parts of the product, including their customer-facing web app, backend systems, databases, microservices, third-party APIs, and servers in the cloud.

It would be really useful if you’ve worked in a cloud environment previously, with DevOps processes in place: taking part in interacting with the cloud, and using CI/ CD pipelines for deployment through to production. It doesn’t matter which cloud you’ve used before- GCP/ Azure or AWS, but they use AWS, so this would be the most pertinent for this role.

They like to have good debates and technical conversations around best practices and how they can continuously improve how they do things, so if you’re the type of person to have strong views on these kinds of things- with enough humility to have your mind changed and accept where other peoples’ ideas might be a better solution for the problem at hand- then you’ll fit right in!

They all work fully remotely, so you’ll need to be happy and able to comfortably work from home. They do like to socialise though! So, in-person meetup suggestions- perhaps in a hot desk environment or a meeting for a coffee- would be welcomed.

If this sounds right up your street, please get in touch to find out more, or apply today!

We welcome diverse applicants and are dedicated to treating all applicants with dignity and respect regardless of background.

Tech Lead

Role:  Tech Lead – TypeScript, AWS

Location:  Office in Leicestershire. Hybrid working model of 1-2 days per week in the office, the rest is working from home.

Salary:  Up to £95k plus bonus and benefits

You’ve got bags of passion and experience not only in creating excellent technical solutions but also in turning teams around.   You take all their bad habits and introduce great ones.  You coach, you mentor, you inspire.

Bringing all of this knowledge, experience, and enthusiasm to the fore, this role will challenge you in the best way and be so rewarding.

I am working exclusively with a fabulous tech company that enriches the lives of the people it serves: the incredible people who protect the community.

I am looking for you: someone who is exceptionally skilled with technology and leading teams.  For you, best practice around software engineering and cloud engineering is your de facto way of doing things:  You can turn your hand to whatever problem you encounter because you have the fundamentals down to a tee.

Experience-wise, you have been in teams where they have been using waterfall-y ways of product development, working with monolithic architectures, messy code bases, and unhelpful silos. You have been pivotal in turning those teams around to use iterative, Agile ways of working, especially continuous development (CD) practices, and fostered a collaborative culture of bringing people from product/ development/ QA, etc. together to reduce release lead times and catch potential issues/ bugs before they become problematic.

Most importantly of all, you’ve inspired a culture of curiosity- experimenting, iterating, and improving how your team do things, from finding and fixing bugs, to how they develop and implement new features.

In this role, you’ll be doing this all again in an environment that’s open and hungry for positive change!

You will technically be leading a team of 5 engineers, alongside a Product Manager, and will be very hands-on with around half your time spent on development and architecture, and the other half of your time spent in planning sessions, coaching the team, doing code reviews, building a team and architecture roadmap, etc.

If this sounds right up your street, apply today, or drop me a line to find out more!

Junior Front End Developer

Role: Junior Front End Developer

(React & JavaScript)

Location: Nottingham, hybrid 1 / 2 days in the office.

Salary: £27k to £35k + 10% bonus

The first couple of years of your development career are the foundation of what makes you who you are. You must rub shoulders with senior / lead engineers, inevitability absorbing all their knowledge and experience that will make you into a formidable front-end guru!

I have just the role that will cement the foundations of your career with what just so happens to be one of my all-time favourite companies to recruit for; a cracking company to work for who really value their staff.

I’m looking for a junior front-end developer to join a wonderful small-medium-sized company in the North of Nottingham. I would also consider fresh graduates who have completed 12 months of industrial placement during their degree providing it was in a dedicated front-end role.

What will this role entail?

You will be part of an agile team working across different sub-departments to ensure high-quality user interfaces, determining the structure and design of web pages whilst striking a balance between functional and aesthetic design. This also includes taking part in the creation of intuitive, customer-focused web applications for a wide range of users.

They have 3 product development teams, using different tech, ranging from C# MVC, SQL Server and Angular to .Net Core and microservices, Azure, React and JavaScript; this role will work across all 3 departments. This role is perfect for someone who has the following ticked off –

React, JavaScript, HTML, and CSS experience.

At least 1 year of commercial development experience (can be part of your degree course).

Any experience in REST APIs, Azure DevOps, Test-driven development, and Agile software development would work in your favour.

Work/life balance is something they are passionate about, so they maintain a 35-hour working week, with core hours, and working from-home options to help with this. They also offer things like training budget, including Pluralsight subscriptions for engineers, and the option to upskill in different areas of business.

I could go on about them, but if you’ve read this far, nodding along and with a smile on your face, then you should apply now so we can have a more in-depth chat about your new role!

Senior Software Engineer

Role: Senior Software Engineer – TypeScript, AWS

Location: Leicestershire. Hybrid working model of 1-2 days per week in the office

Salary: up to £75k plus bonus and benefits

You’ve got bags of passion and experience for Software Engineering and collaboration. You love best practices, things done well, and to get everyone in for the ride!

There’s no problem too hard to solve. No bug is too small.   You communicate effectively, mentor patiently, and code exceptionally.

I am working exclusively with a fabulous tech company that enriches the lives of the people it serves: the incredible people who protect the community.

I am looking for you: someone who is highly skilled with technology and chomping at the bit to really make an impact in a team.

For you, best practices around software engineering and cloud engineering is your de facto way of doing things: you can turn your hand to whatever problem you encounter because you have the fundamentals down to a tee.

Experience-wise, you will have been in a large company and worked at an enterprise level: knowing what needs doing and working with large groups of people to get that stuff done. You’ve proven you are great at Software Engineering- you have the fundamentals down- and want to bring this knowledge, experience, and passion to the table in a new environment with people who will benefit massively from it.

You have mentored some junior devs and love seeing them learn new things!

You will be a senior member of the team of around 7(ish) people, using React, Node, TypeScript, and AWS, mainly. You will have a daily stand-up at 9:45 am, review tickets and upcoming features with the team, maybe do some paired programming sessions, and then get involved in architectural discussions. It’s a varied role that will see you getting involved in lots of different activities: using your existing skills and learning new ones.

As mentioned earlier, their offices are based in Leicestershire with a hybrid working model of 1-2 days per week in the office, the rest is working from home. They can be flexible on this, so if everything is right for you except for this, please still get in touch and highlight that to me!

If this sounds right up your street, apply today or drop me a line to find out more!

IT Project Manager

IT Project Manager

Location: Nottingham – Hybrid, 3 days a week in either North or South Notts, 2 days a week from home

Salary: Up to 45k + generous pension, 25 days holiday, flexible working

We’re looking for a project manager with requirements analysis experience who has delivered a wide range of IT projects on behalf of a rapidly changing company with big IT plans in Nottingham!

With some project management roles, you’ll take a lovely brief prepared by a team of BAs, before you crack on and deliver the project.

That won’t be happening here!

This company is undergoing rapid and ambitious IT change, and there is just too much work for their existing PM, so they are looking for another PM to join them in what will be a multifaceted IT PM role, where a large part will involve business analysis and requirement gathering.

As this is a brand-new role, this is a great opportunity to make the position your own – you will be working alongside the other senior MM who will largely leave you to your own devices to deliver small-medium sized projects independently.

You will take full responsibility for ensuring projects are delivered on time and to budget, conducting the project initiation and review meetings with various internal departments and suppliers.

Working with the IT service delivery manager you will be ensuring that the output of all the projects is transitioned seamlessly into BAU, so you will ideally have worked on IT Infrastructure projects (such as Office 365 migrations, service improvement projects and software/site upgrades).

The company is growing, so there will always be lots of work to keep you busy and new team members to keep you company!

You must have an appreciation for good practice and structured project management to be considered, especially documentation and prioritisation.

On offer is a base salary up to £45k + 6% pension contributions (from company) and 25 days holiday, with flexible working.

Hit apply for immediate consideration and a personal response from one of our recruiters!

Project Manager

Role: Project Manager

Salary: £30K – £40K

Location: Beeston, Nottingham

You will be the first Project Manager to join the business and will have the opportunity to grow into your role.

Working with a fabulous company in Nottingham, I am looking for a talented and enthusiastic Project Manager to join their growing team! The reason for this role is that the company has recently won several meaty contracts; they haven’t got enough capacity existing in-house to get everything done that they want to, so are bringing more people on board.

They are a digital and communications agency company that works with many different clients so the work is varied and interesting. It encourages a collaborative culture where everyone works together on some different tasks concurrently, so it’s important that everyone there is easy to get along with and works well together- and they do!

They have a beautiful office (that’s being refurbished, too), and some very intelligent and experienced people there that you can both learn from and contribute your ideas to, it’s encouraged and appreciated.

They look after their team and have a really low staff turnover as a result- they go on team social events frequently (sometimes, it’s just a trip down to the pub, and sometimes it’s a team day out), bond inside and outside work, and have an open and friendly work culture.

You will be working closely with one of the Directors of the business, as they have been managing the projects themselves. You will be firstly taking responsibility for one of their clients and working 3 /4 projects concurrently.

You will ideally have experience working with digital projects as this is what they are all about. So, if digital projects are your cup of tea, then this is the role for you.

Benefits-wise, we offer in return:

  • Flexible working hours
  • Flexible working arrangements: either mostly remote or hybrid, you choose!
  • A beautiful office based in Beeston, Nottingham to work in
  • Shower facilities
  • Free parking
  • 25 days’ annual leave increases by 1 day with each year of service.
  • Workplace pension
  • Chance to work on high-profile projects, with cool tech, from their global client list
  • Enhanced benefits on performance
  • Very little, ad-hoc support work

Important to note:  You must be a UK resident and eligible to work in the UK to be considered for this role.

MS Dynamics CRM 2015 Developer

Role:  MS Dynamics CRM 2015 Developer

Salary:  Up to £65k, + generous pension, 10% bonus and health/life cover

Location:  Based mainly remotely with travel into Birmingham once a week or so.

As an experienced Dynamics Developer, you’re used to working with complexity.  You’ve probably seen companies using Dynamics in a less than optimal way, or customisations that make your head hurt, trying to unpick how someone else has put things together.

The thing is though, you love it.  You know your knowledge and expertise within MS Dynamics can unlock so much value for a company and, as long as they’re willing to listen, there is so much more that you can unlock for them.

This company is part of a group that is one of the UK’s fastest-growing sustainability organisations.  They have grown through acquisition over the last few years and have big plans for the future.

You’ll be working in one of their prized companies – the one with arguably the most growth potential internationally and the most positive culture when it comes to embracing technology.

They have a longstanding developer who has managed their Dynamics needs up until now, but they want another developer to join them as they look to move away from sticking-plaster customisation and development to a more proactive and ambitious embrace of Dynamics CRM as a solution.

They are currently running on CRM 2015, but the plan is to move to Dynamics 365 as soon as is feasible, and you’ll be a driving force in that change.

Therefore, if you are currently working with 365, you will need to have previous experience of working with an on-premise instance of CRM 2015 – however, rest assured, this is not the long term plan.

You will need the usual Microsoft background (.NET / C#) as this is a software development focused role and will ideally be used to working with Business Analysts and DevOps Engineers in a modern Agile environment.

On offer is a base salary up to £65k, + generous pension, 10% bonus and health/life cover.  The company is also one of the most people-centric and friendly working cultures we have had the pleasure of recruiting for in the past 10 years, so you will be respected and looked after – the company enjoys a very low staff turnover rate!

Data Analyst

Role: Data Analyst

Salary: Up to £40k

Location: Fully remote/ remote first. They have no office.

Would you like to use your tech skills to help reduce the damaging impact of transportation on the climate crisis?

Then this role and company might just well be what you’ve been looking for!

I am looking for a Data Analyst who will be joining a growing team of data specialists who have a huge breadth of knowledge between them and are interested in moving forwards with the latest tech and keeping up to date.

Data IS the company’s product. They use it to augment behaviours within the transportation sector to reduce fuel costs and usage; helping the companies they work with to save money and, most importantly, to have a significant, positive impact on the environment.

Due to the nature of the business, having a strong passion for data would be a major advantage! You will transcend into the typical data spectrum, looking at performance management, data science and Machine learning.

You don’t have to have spent years working with data to apply for this role, you maybe a graduate who has a desire to jump on board the data train, however you will have an understanding of big data sets and how they work. One thing that is important though is that you will have used python and some experience of working with the cloud, ideally AWS.

On a day to day basis the main involvement will be with analytics and data science, as well as building dashboards, analysing data and research – as in looking at historical data. There is a demand within the business developing for AI so this is also something that you will be able to get your teeth stuck into.

They all work fully remotely, and don’t have an office, so you’ll need to happy and able to comfortably work from home. They do like to socialise though! So in-person meetup suggestions- perhaps in a hot desk environment or a meeting for a coffee- would be welcomed.

If this sounds right up your street, then please get in touch to find out more, or apply today!
