Biodiversity is a buzzword right now. The destruction of nature and loss of biodiversity is amplifying other crises.

Governments are scrambling to measure and value nature, and how their infrastructure or economic plans impact our wild spaces, health and environment, questioning whether a diverse forest is more commercially or socially valuable than an oil rig, palm-oil plantation or regenerative farm.

A lot of these benefits are tangible economic and social wins that in the longer term will reduce our dependency on problematic resources such as fossil fuels.

Their tech stack is predominantly Javascript, Ruby on Rails, Python and MySQL, with some other bits sprinkled in and use of all cloud platforms based on what their partners use.

They have so many areas to add value, they need someone driven who can be decisive in wanting to find ways to add value.

The people here are exceptionally passionate so will chart their own path where possible. You’ll be able to do the same and support others in their endeavours.

Digital Trading Manager

Digital Trading Manager

Location: Nottingham – Hybrid/remote (once a week in Nottinghamshire or London office)

Salary: £60k – £72k

B2C retail-focused digital trading managers! Are you ready to head up digital trading plans for one of the best-known retail household brands in the UK? Great, then I guess I should tell you a bit more…

Reporting into: Head of Digital

Direct reports: x4 digital traders, digital planning manager and paid media manager.

As the digital trading manager/e-commerce manager, you will be heading up the day-to-day trade plans and promotions for the company and related websites. You’ll be reacting to performance signals and proposing new approaches to take the digital branch of the business to the next level. This is one of those rare roles where there is high exposure to the CEO/C-suite due to the team structure and the fact you will be presenting the monthly margin forecasts, and trade plans and leading the delivery on them.

The right candidate for this role has a number of years experience in the B2C E-commerce domain looking after digital trading. Perhaps you are currently an Ecommerce manager for a large brand? Or perhaps you are managing a team within buying at the moment? They are HEAVILY focused on commercial performance right now, so the skillset that the successful candidate can bring to the table will be crucial. If you are a “numbers person” then you are in the right place.

Although this is a fantastic opportunity, I don’t like to sugarcoat things and therefore it’s important to understand that due to the current digital transformation they are going through, you will need to be highly resilient, able to foresee future trading opportunities and able to set the pace working cross-functionally with the marketing and commercial teams. Longer term they would be looking for you to deliver the trading plans on online marketplaces like Amazon etc.

Web Developer

Web Developer (C# / JavaScript)

Location: Hybrid / Nottingham (once a week in the office)

Salary: £30k – £45k

It’s 2023, you’ve made some personal commitments to progress your technical skills and you’ve decided you need a change of environment. You’ve got an appetite to work on technically challenging projects and you’re looking for a place where you feel valued, somewhere where your opinions are appreciated.

The company I’m recruiting for have been around for over 50 years and they have exceeded their company targets even during the worst of the Covid pandemic, growing 25% year on year. Due to this growth (and various acquisitions of smaller brands within the same domain), they have embarked on growing their high-performing tech team which is the backbone of their business.

The tech team consists of around 50 (but will soon be 60) with departments including SAP, technical support, mobile development and BAU dev teams. However, the web team falls outside any of the above-mentioned departments. They are responsible for their flagship product which brings in a revenue of around £60 million a year. This team is currently made up of a technical architect, senior developer, automation tester and Scrum Master / BA.

I’m looking for someone who is passionate about development and is always keen to stay ahead of the curve. It doesn’t matter if you are stronger in JavaScript or C#, what is relevant here is that you’ll be working with both (along with RESTful web services, SQL Server and CSS). As it’s a small web team, you need to have a ‘can do attitude’ as they work in an agile environment with fortnightly sprints.

£30k to £45k basic salary, 31 days holiday, competitive pension scheme, healthcare cashback plan + discounted gym membership.

At Rebel Recruiters, we work closely with our clients meaning we have a deeper understanding of every role and company we recruit for. This vacancy is exclusive to us so if it piques your interest please apply or call for a guaranteed, personal reply from one of our Rebel Recruiters!
