iOS Developer- Remote

Location: Lincoln / Remote - must be UK based if remote
Salary: £30,000 - 45,000

There’s a trend within the IoT and Wearable Technology sector.

It’s not a nice one.

We’ve seen the story time and time again; company develops product for very niche market, releases product, nobody buys it, and they fall flat on their face.

A lot of the time that all comes down to rehashing a product that’s already been done a thousand times already.

Most wearable tech just isn’t “useful” to the average person except for convenience and a few gimmicks.

But what if there was a company out there that were developing wearable solutions that could genuinely save lives?

A company that have built a platform focusing on wearables with an actual purpose.

I reckon they’d have a pretty good shot, don’t you?

Starting as a team of 4, they’ve gone from one victory to the next over the last 12 months and they’re now a company of 20 with plans to grow even further.

But this isn’t a start-up that’s been built around 1 or 2 people. Everyone here is valued, and their culture is one that promotes fresh ideas, ownership, and a real sense of belonging.

When you’re developing technology that saves lives, you’ll often need to think outside of the box, and they know that you need freedom in order to do that.

You’re not chained to one spot here, either. Progression opportunities and autonomy are a core part of their DNA, and for those who don’t really fancy commuting to Lincoln, or just want to have their own space, they’re more than happy to offer remote working.

After all, it’s 2019 – do you really need to be in the office to be good at your job?

Their needs are simple, and there’s no long list of requirements to be considered here.

All they need is someone with a love of development, a few bright ideas, and the drive to tackle the challenges ahead.

Tech stack is about what you’d expect for a role like this, but to keep it short:

  • You’ll have 2 years (or more) experience developing iOS/mobile applications - if you’ve worked with Android previously, but know your way around Swift, you’ll be just fine
  • Any experience with Bluetooth for iOS will be a massive help - if you don't have this, a willingness to learn is super important
  • When it comes to tackling tricky problems, you’re not one to shy away and look for the easy way out
  • You’re not scared to make your ideas known and your voice heard

If you’re someone who wants to grow in to a role and build a team of your own, they can make that happen and give you all the support you need along the way.

At the same time, if you’re happy just coding away and bringing cool ideas to the table, they’re okay with that too – not everyone wants to be a manager, and as techies themselves, they respect that.
