Great to have:
Working with a company that have a fast-paced and delivery focused culture, you’ll be working to add and improve the quality of their back-end projects. Working in a reasonably new team who are looking to bring their processes and delivery into maturity you’ll get stuck in with hands on testing and coordinating test resources across a number of live projects, ensuring that adequate coverage and testing is completed before software goes to deployment through CICD, using Jenkins.
Whether you add value through helping the Dev team improve development principles or suggesting / implementing new processes you’ll have the chance to take ownership of the work you’re tasked with to do it your way. You’ll work closely with Product Owners, Developers, PMs and others to establish and refine customer requirements and user stories to improve overall quality as well as being a key factor in keeping everyone up to date with where the priorities lie. There’ll be a good mix of testing APIs, web services, some integration, exploratory testing and essentially all the really exciting stuff that testers get involved with.
It’s beneficial if you’ve ever used tools such as; Gatling for performance testing, Grafana for testing dashboards and data visualisations, Jenkins for CICD, SonarQube for assessing code quality or any tools used that work with Java. Experience of coding in Java or the ability to read Java is helpful too, and any general experience with back-end testing, web services and APIs, interrogating SQL and databases will stand out due to the nature of this role.
