Web Design & Marketing Lead

full time

Web Design & Marketing Lead

  • Location: Derby
  • Salary: £25–65k + Benefits

A small team who is working with some really well-known household names need someone special who can help them on 2 fronts:

  1. To unify their own branding / message and digital marketing to let the world know about some of the great stuff they do.
  2. To provide that same service offering to clients too – they keep being asked so they’d like to be able to say yes more often. That would mean doing full campaigns from web design, SEO, Marketing material, AdWords campaigns, full marketing strategy, brand strategy and any other marketing activities they might want...

This role is a bit odd in that if you took a good web designer (WordPress, Photoshop, InDesign etc) with a sprinkle of coding ability (PHP / JavaScript) and a Digital Marketing Executive who can run PPC and AdWords campaigns and create strategies and plans on how to establish processes, best practice, plans to create a direction of travel – ‘Frankensteined’ them together, you’d have the ideal person I’m looking for…

The team is small so people wear lots of ‘hats’ wherever needed, there isn’t a support team around to deliver on the campaigns so I’m looking for someone who doesn’t need to rely on support staff to deliver the ‘vision’. Instead, I’m looking for someone to dream it up and deliver it too. Aside from the strategic and technical knowhow, a great deal of value will be placed in the creativity of ideas and solutions as well as an eye for design. In truth, you won’t be completely alone, you’d be working closely with the director to do the work, he’ll be in the trenches too for guidance – not watching from the sidelines.

In addition to a CV, I’m going to be looking for you to provide 3 things after the initial call to discuss your CV / suitability, ahead of an interview:

  • An example of an AdWords campaign.
  • One or more examples of UI design – so any web designs that would typify your design and flare.
  • An example of any code you’ve written – even if it’s a small sample to show a basic understanding of PHP / JavaScript (just to be clear, I’m not looking for a coder!)

  • 25 days holiday + bank holidays + your birthday off + extra holiday for every holiday year (Jan – Dec) worked
  • Training and development
  • Flexible working and work from home potential
  • Other usual stuff …

If you think you could fit my unique mould of Frankenstein’s monster, please drop me a line – I’ll answer any and all questions.
