So, you've got about a year and a bit's worth of marketing experience behind you. You're doing alright, your boss isn't that bad, and when it comes to creating awesome paid media campaigns you really love getting stuck in.
Where others see a boring piece of ad copy, or endless spreadsheets filled with keywords, you see limitless possibilities. At the same time, wouldn’t you like to break the mould a bit? Realistically, they’re looking for someone with a good knowledge of Adwords, a way with words, and a good (but not amazing…yet) knowledge of how PPC works within the SME space. If you’re inhouse now, that’s fine, but the most important thing is that you want to take advantage of the autonomy and freedom that they’ll give you.
In terms of tools and your own development, the world is your oyster. In the past, they’ve paid for their junior exec’s to attend conferences all over the world and the vast majority of their senior managers and team leads have come from the very bottom as junior’s – basically, when they say they’ll invest in you, they really do mean that!
