Senior DevOps Engineer

full time

Headline: Either a Mid or Senior level (whichever the person ends up being at, level-wise) DevOps role using cutting edge tech in a fabulous company

Salary: £30K - £50K

Requirements: demonstrable knowledge of Azure, Python, VSTS, VMWare, and- most importantly- Kubernetes with Docker.

Beneficial: Agile, and they also want to start using Jenkins, so any experience in these areas would be useful.

Location: Nottingham.

I’m working with a very well-established company- having been around for 30 years or so- but it feels like a start-up there, culture-wise.

You will be going into a small team of you and a couple of other people, as it stands, where you’ll be working on a brand new, greenfield product that is best of breed IaaS software used by the emergency services, and other sectors, the world over. They have done an alpha release, and are doing an MVP release soon, with view to release fully next year.

From a tech point of view, it’s a good time to join them as they are just embarking on their journey towards the cloud (Azure mainly, but AWS as well) and proper Agile and DevOps practices, so someone who is well-versed in these areas would be really useful. As they are just starting on this transformation, they have a split between on-prem and cloud hosting, with view to move closer and closer towards the cloud.

They don’t mind of you’ve come from a dev or infrastructure background, as long as you have some good skills to work from, a great attitude, and a logical and pragmatic approach to problem-solving. Enthusiasm for what you do, and what they are trying to achieve is paramount, and will trump pre-existing technical skills every time!

The dev team you will be working closely alongside comprises of 1-15 on-site devs, and roughly the same amount of off-shore devs in Eastern Europe.

Skills-wise, I’m looking for someone with experience with:

·Azure / AWS

·Agile methodologies
