Headline: A scientific company is looking to expand their experienced development team, if you’ve got experience in C# and SQL Server, and would like to work on the company’s largest ever software projects then read on!
Location: Coventry (parking on site available and walking distance from a train station)
Salary: £40,000 - £45,000 including an incredible benefits package
Ideal candidate: A C# / Sql Server software developer with at least 3 years’ experience who is used to working on complex upgrade/migration projects.
We visited this company earlier this week and having spoken to their team it’s clear that this is a super-friendly, close-knit team where the average length of tenure is close to 10 years. The company works in the scientific industry, so you’ll be sharing the office with a real diverse bunch of people, from lab technicians, office workers, project managers and of course other developers.
This role would suit someone who is first and foremost a developer who loves understanding problems and figuring out how things need to work by talking to people, rather than someone who is purely a coder. Their software environment is very complex, diverse and modular, so you could be working on upgrading a troublesome Winforms application one week through to developing a new portal in ASP.NET MVC the next.
In terms of your skills, you will ideally have proven knowledge in C# with a solid knowledge in MS SQL. You don’t need Winforms experience as most of the current work will be with ASP.NET/MVC. Alternatively, a strong Sql Server Developer with some C# skills will also be considered.
Good communication skills will be required as you’ll have a lot of contact with on-site users, making use of good investigation skills to help identify problems users will experience on a day to day basis.
You will be expected to take a lot of initiative in this role, helping to push newer ideas and help to customize software to meet the user’s needs.
On offer is a salary up to £45k + an amazing benefits package which includes adoption/maternity leave and various bonuses on offer plus flexible working, on site car parking and the chance to work from home if/when needed.
