Headline: We are looking for a Software Development Architect to lead a brand-new team of developers, all focused on Scala, Big Data and predictive analytics.
Location: Nottingham City Centre
Salary: From £75K to £95K
Ideal Candidate: You don’t have to come from a Scala background, but you would need to have come from a Java development background. It is important to have extensive experience with AWS as well as Scala and/or Java.
This role is looking for an experienced architect to come and join them as they build their new Big Data team from scratch! They are undertaking a big new project with moving the data from an existing team in Canada and building a brand-new team in the Nottingham office to begin building data models here.
As this team grows and develops, you will get the chance to shape and mould the direction that this department takes, bringing innovative ideas and having a direct impact on the outcome of the nature of the models.
You need to come from a development background and have a fantastic understanding of the software development lifecycle, potentially having worked with various methodologies, especially agile. As well as the software development lifecycle, you also need strong experience in cloud computing benefits, concepts and principles. AWS will be an important part of this role, so it is imperative that you are experienced and up to date with your AWS skills.
You should also have a good awareness of technology trends with regards to the cloud, Big Data and analytics while having the ability to adapt to new technologies as they become relevant.
