Performance Test Consultant

Role: Writing and executing Performance tests, Experience with C# and automating tests. Testing APIs, web and mobile applications, Documenting progress clearly and liaising with senior stakeholders.
Salary: £40K - £60K
Requirements: TDD/BDD, LoudRunner, Automation scripting, Coded UI, LoadUI, TFS, C#, car and driving license.

Location: UK wide, working on client sites.

Working with a company with a diverse portfolio and spectrum of projects, we’re looking for confident Performance testers, with experience in automation at the min and senior levels.

At a glance, you’ll need:

  • Technical skills:
    • LoadRunner, LoadUI, JMeter, TFS, Visual Studio Web Performance, or similar.
    • Familiar with Testing methods; BDD, TDD, ATDD,
    • Ideally; 3 years+ working on performance testing, with experience automating where possible.
  • Soft skills:
    • Charisma, Leadership, Tact, Coaching/Mentoring
    • Senior Sales experience is a bonus; giving clients confidence in your solutions.

You need to be confident with using performance testing tools, the more the better, and be familiar with the process of executing thorough performance tests. As a consultant you’ll get to be hands on while also assisting in guiding / developing the strategy, and ensuring diligent processes are being set and followed by the team. There may be the need to coach and train more junior staff and you’ll have autonomy in how you apply your skills.

You’ll need to have experience incorporating automation testing into your day-to-day where possible and have a solid understanding of Agile principles.

You’ll ideally be able to use C# or Java to write test scripts for your automation, and will have done a few other forms of testing such as, Regression, Integration, Unit, Security, Black Box etc.

Essentially, I need someone who is confident enough to help test a multitude of different products, systems and applications, as clients’ and their needs change; someone who can cope with any task that gets thrown their way, while managing relationships and expectations. You’ll actively seek out the knowledge (from colleagues or online/academic resources) to find solutions.

The salary on offer for the role is highly competitive and can be based anywhere in the UK as it will include UK Wide travel, depending on where other consultants and clients are based.
