Reporting into: Head of Digital
Direct reports: x4 digital traders, digital planning manager and paid media manager.
As the digital trading manager/e-commerce manager, you will be heading up the day-to-day trade plans and promotions for the company and related websites. You’ll be reacting to performance signals and proposing new approaches to take the digital branch of the business to the next level. This is one of those rare roles where there is high exposure to the CEO/C-suite due to the team structure and the fact you will be presenting the monthly margin forecasts, and trade plans and leading the delivery on them.
The right candidate for this role has a number of years experience in the B2C E-commerce domain looking after digital trading. Perhaps you are currently an Ecommerce manager for a large brand? Or perhaps you are managing a team within buying at the moment? They are HEAVILY focused on commercial performance right now, so the skillset that the successful candidate can bring to the table will be crucial. If you are a “numbers person” then you are in the right place.
Although this is a fantastic opportunity, I don’t like to sugarcoat things and therefore it’s important to understand that due to the current digital transformation they are going through, you will need to be highly resilient, able to foresee future trading opportunities and able to set the pace working cross-functionally with the marketing and commercial teams. Longer term they would be looking for you to deliver the trading plans on online marketplaces like Amazon etc.
